I just read about Ayu tweeted something important for certain people to stop tweet Max Matsuura in a serious way.

もう、やり場のない怒りや悲しみの矛先をまさだけに向けるのは、お願いですからやめませんか？知りたくない事まで知らなくてはいけない立場上、全てを知り涙を流していたまさは、皆さんと同じく、深いキズを負いながらも希望は捨てていない同志ではないですか。

Attacking Masa just because you have no other outlet to vent your anger and sadness, I beg you, please stop. Even though he doesn't want to know about it, there is no way that he can't know it. ^a japanese girl said it: she said about Max Matsuura that some ppl tweet complaining (about Tohoshinki,etc) only to him too many times, so Ayu asked them 2 stop.

That Tohoshinki's fans have many questions about them and ask him. Maybe some questions include violent words.

Even he answered a bad question. So a part of fans (I think they thought he's childish) is angry and blame max.

But please don't blame Tohoshinki/TVXQ/DBSK but the fans if it's neccesary, I'm a fan as well, and I'm sad as well for the whole situation happens with the group, but still as a fan, we really need to calm down and it's really something we can't do but have to wait for it patiently. We don't want anything like this to happen, Max Matsuura-san also doesn't want it. So please, if possible, LET'S MOVE ON TOGETHER. Don't act so immature, ok?

One more thing, Please don't blame Ayu for this because I think she's RIGHT!

ayuとの出会いを教えてくれと質問が多いので。

あくまでも僕の視点から見た話で、あゆのそれとは違うかもしれない。

あれは僕が31歳のころだから15年近く前のことになる。

ヴェルファーレで働く人間の紹介でayuと会う。

「今、ドラマ(未成年)に出てる」とか「今度、歌も出す」

とか、たわいもない話をした中、

まだ当時、たいしたことのないはずの自分は偉そうに、

「歌はそんなに簡単に売れないよ」なんてayuに言っていた覚えがある。

それから、何故か、割と頻繁に会うようになる。

もちろん今のayuなんて予想だにしていない。

カラオケで歌を歌わせて、

KEYをどんどん上げていってどこまで声が出るかなだとか、

どんな声質だとか、歌がうまい下手などと

勝手なことを言っていた気がする。

どちらからともなく、連絡を取り

たまに会っていたけど、仕事の話とかはあまりした覚えがない。

ただ、「お母さんと事務所に行って辞めてきた」

という話を聞いたのは鮮明に覚えている。

歌手になりたいという話は聞いたことはあったけど

あまり本気に取り上げてはいなかった。

だけど、事務所を辞めてきたとなると

「どうするの?」という疑問は普通に出てくる。

その時から、二人三脚は始まった。

そうなればこちらも本気になる。

僕はayuをデビューさせるための作戦を

日々、考えるようになる。

一方、小室さんとの関係はますます悪化していった。

当時の僕の最大のミッションは、小室さん無しでavexを自立させること。

そのため、僕自身でアーティストをプロデュースする必要があった。

ちょうどELTをデビューさせることが決まり、それに没頭していたころだ。

1996年の8月にデビューしたELT。

華々しく売れていくELTの裏で、

僕は次のアーティストのデビューへ向けて全力で動いていた。

それがayuだ。

一方、ELTは96年の8月にデビューし翌1月には3作目の「Dear My Friend」が大ヒット。

ファーストアルバムも200万を超えて夏には「For The Moment」「出逢ったころ頃のように」

などシングルヒットを連発。続いて、「Time goes by」などシングルヒットも続き

ayuがデビューする98年4月にはセカンドアルバムを発売。

450万超えを達成。要した時間はデビューから一年半であった。

こうして、小室氏が抜けていく穴を急速に埋めるのが自分の役目だった。

そしてELTが450万枚を記録することになるセカンドアルバムの発売日からちょうど一週前の

1998年4月8日にayuはデビューする。

デビューするまでには1年ちょっとかかった。

ニューヨークへもレッスンに行かせたし、

失敗は許されないと思い、

どういう形態でデビューさせようかとも相当悩んだ。

だけど、僕の考えや心配は彼女が「私は絶対ソロで行きたい」の一言で一蹴。

ソロの難しさを知っている僕はかなり悩んだけど、あえて難しい道を選択。

同時期にデビュー前の売り込みに走りまわるが、評価は散々。

テレビ局の友達からも「売れないからやめとけ」といわれ、

業界の先輩方達からも「スポンサー受けする顔じゃない」とか言われ、

その悔しさをバネにするしかなかった自分がいた。

ならば、世の中の人の好みまで変えてしまえと当時は思ったものだ。

一方、スタジオでは星野靖彦 @magic_bus_ を中心に楽曲制作は進んでいた。

デビュー曲を「poker face」に決めて、デビュー時には10曲以上のデモと

シングルとして4枚目まではすでに決まっていた。

「poker face」はカウントダウンTVのテーマソングで4月8日にデビュー。

それから、2ヶ月に1枚のペースでシングルをリリース。

3枚目の「TRUST」でベスト10入り。方向性がなんとなく見えて、

4枚目は洋介の協力のもと、森永製菓のCMに出演。

5枚目の「Depend on you」でまたもやベスト10入りし、

99年1月1日発売のファーストアルバム「A Song for ××」

で堂々のオリコン一位。そしてミリオンアーティストの仲間入りを果たす。

同年7月「BOYS & GIRLS」でシングルでミリオン突破。

その後の活躍は皆の知っての通りです。

Translation:

There were a lot of questions asking me to talk about how I met Ayu.

This will be from my perspective so how it happened may be different from Ayu’s perspective.

Our first encounter is when I was about 31, so almost 15 years ago.

I met Ayu through someone that worked at velfarre (Avex’s disco in Roppongi)

She was saying frothy things like “I’m in a dorama (Miseinen)” and “I will put out a song.” At the time, I was still someone of no importance. Even so, I remember telling Ayu that “selling music is that easy you know”

After that, for some reason, we met quite often.

Of course I did not predict at the slightest that she would become today’s Ayu

We would go to karaoke and have her sing, and I have a feeling I would dare to talk about what kind of voice she had, how well or bad she sung, or how high she can sing as I raise the key, etc.

We would randomly contact each other and met occasionally, but I don’t remember talking that much about work.

However, I distinctly remember her saying, “I went with my mom to my talent agency and quit”

I have heard her talk about wanting to become a singer, but I didn’t really take it seriously.

But, if she had went and quit her agency, then the question of “what are you going to do?” would of course come up.

Our partnership began from there on. (NOTE: He actually said “three-legged race”, which means the two worked together from that day on.)

In that case, I got serious too.

I began to think daily on the strategy to get Ayu debut.

At the same time, my relationship with Mr. Komuro was getting worse and worse.

So my biggest mission at the time was to make avex stand on its own without him.

To do that, there was a necessity for me to produce artists myself.

It was around that time when it was decided to debut ELT and I was pre-occupied with that.

ELT, August of 1996 debut

Behind the ELT that was selling spectacularly, I was giving my all to make my next artist debut. That was Ayu.

At the same time, in the January following their August 1996 debut, their 3rd single “Dear My Friend” was a big hit.

In the summer when their album sold over 2 million copies, they also had consecutive hits “For The Moment” “Deatta koro no you ni”. After that, with single hit like “Time goes by”, they released their second album in April of 1998, the month that Ayu was going to debut.

The album sold over 4.5 million copies. It took a year and a half from debut.

With that, it was my role to quickly fill the gaps left with the exclusion of Mr. Komuro.

And, just one week before ELT sold their 2nd album that got a sales record of 4.5 million copies, Ayu debut on April 8, 1998.

It took a bit over a year for her to debut.

I sent her to lessons in NY, and thinking that failure is not acceptable, I agonized over how I would debut her.

But, her one phrase of “I definitely want to go solo” kicked away all my thinking and worries.

Knowing how difficult it was to be a solo artist, I agonized over this but ventured to choose to difficult road.

Around the same time, we went around promoting her before her actual debut, but the reception was disastrous.

Friends from TV networks also told me “she won’t sell. Give up now.”

Seniors in the industry also told me “she doesn’t have a face that sponsors like.”

All I could do was to turn all that frustration into a spring (to make sure Ayu succeeds).

If that was the case, I thought at the time that then I was going to change even the tastes of people of this world.

At the same time, music production was happening at the studios with Yasuhiko Hoshino at the center of the efforts.

“poker face” was decided as the debut song. At the time of her debut, over 10 demo songs and up to her 4th single were already decided.

After that, singles were released at a pace of one every two months

3rd single “Trust” entered top 10. We began to somewhat see the direction of her music.

4th single: with the help of Yosuke, she appeared in a Morinaga CM

5th single “Depend on you” entered top 10 again.

First album “A Song for XX”, released on Jan 1, 1999, became #1 on Oricon Chart.

And she became one of the million selling artists.

In July of the same year, she sold over a million for the single “BOYS & GIRLS”

「moon」 が出来るまで・・・・

その昔、まだ僕が24歳位の頃、自分の貸しレコード店で働く、


同じ歳のアルバイトの奴が、「付き合いのある、スタジオが、閉店したんで、


機材を譲り受けたから、何か社長の好きな曲を作りますよ！」と言うんで、


僕は、自分の好きなダンスミュージックを何十曲と渡し、特に期待もせずに、というか、


ほぼ、そんな事は、日々の忙しさに忙殺され、忘れてしまっていた。


ある日、彼が僕に曲が出来たとカセットテープをくれた。


店が閉店し、帰る車の中でそのテープを聞き、


まだ、僕の求めるものとは、ほど遠いけど、何か感じるものがあった。


それからは何度か彼の家に行き、あーでもない、こーでもないと、


ひたすら、僕の望む音に仕上げて行く日々を送った。


そして、彼は貸しレコードのアルバイトから、まだ、出来たばかりのエイベックスの社員となった 。


当時の流行りのユーロビートを完璧なまでに、日本で再現するため、


エイベックスはまだレコード会社でもないのに、町田に小さなスタジオを作った。


友達の内装屋に頼み、防音の仕方もわからない僕らは、


それでも、自力で、どうにかスタジオを作ってしまった。


そして、すぐに、avex traxがスタートした。


HI-BPM STUDIOと名付けられた手作りのスタジオはさしづめ、ぼくのおもちゃに近いものだった。


僕がスタジオに一番時間をさいたのは、その頃かもしれない。


徹底的にEUROBEATをマスターするため、キックの音ひとつ作るのにいったい何ヶ月かけたかわからない 。


そして、ついに僕らは本場のイタリアはミラノに旅だち、


その彼はEUROBEATの巨匠、デイヴロジャースのスタジオで約一ヶ月間アシスタントを勤め 帰国した。


彼のEUROBEATの作品で、スーパーユーロビートに収録されている曲は、何曲もある。


当時、僕らは日本人とはわからないように楽曲を制作していた。


そして、世の中は、テクノハウスの時代へと進み、世はバブル。


ジュリアナTOKYOが絶世を風靡していた。


すかさず、彼はテクノハウスの制作に入る。


代表曲は、誰でもが知っているあの曲だ。Can't Undo This!!



そう、記憶にあたらしいところでは、DJ OZMAがカバーしたあの


I RAVE U feat. DJ OZMA の元曲である。


その後も彼はスターゲイザー、マキシマイザーの名義でジュリアナでのヒット曲を作りまくった。


時、同じく、小室哲哉氏がテクノハウスに興味をもちｔｒｆをデビューさせる。


デビュー曲の「GOING TO DANCE」のリミックスは彼であり、


のちのちリミックスのほうがメインのアレンジと変わって行く。


「GOING TO DANCE」である。


今でもライブの場合は彼のアレンジが採用される。


それから、数年。僕は、彼にひとつのミッションを出す。


デビュー前の浜崎あゆみのレコーディングレッスンとデビュー作品の制作である。


約一年をかけ、その後、浜崎あゆみはデビューする。


「porker face」それは、彼の作曲である。


そして、名曲「A SONG FOR・・・」を彼は生みだした。


以降、浜崎あゆみに数曲、MAXの代表曲「Give me a Shake」も彼の曲だ。


しかし、彼はその後、10年近いスランプに落ち入る。


どれだけ、辛かっただろう。


僕も、忙しく、中々、手をさしのべてあげることができなかった。


現在、小室氏の右腕的存在で、且つガルネクのキーボード、作曲家の鈴木大輔が、


彼の曲ですごく良い曲があると、デモを受け取り、ピンときた。


完全復活、


もしくは、時代が巡ったのかもしれない。


彼が変わったのか、時代が一周したのかはまだわからない。


彼の名を星野靖彦 (←twitter account )という。


浜崎あゆみの次作「moon」の作曲家である。

In the past, when I was still about 24, I was working at my own Record Rental shop,

And someone who was the same age as me, a part-timer, said "My friend's studio has closed, so I got all the equipment, so I will make any song the manager wants!!"

I handed over quite a few of the dance songs that I loved, without expecting much of anything, or should I say, roughly that I forgot all about it with the crushing business of the everyday life.

One day, he gave me a casette tape with the songs that he made.

I closed the shop, and on the way home, I listened to the tape,

Well, the thing I was looking for was still far, but I could feel something.

After that, I went to his house many times, "Not that, not this"

And set on it, I lived out the days where I was finishing the music that I was wishing for.

And after that, from the part-time job, he went to become an employee of Avex, a company that had just been created.

At the time, until the time it was made perfect, eurobeat was a crazy fad, and in order to revive the scene in Japan, even though Avex wasn't a record company at that time, they made a small studio in Machida.

They asked an interior designer friend to help with that aspect, and we, who didn't know a thing about sound proofing, with our own power, made a studio.

And, immediately, avex trax was started.

The studio that was like a hand made thing, named HI BPM Studio, and after all, it looked like something close to a toy I had.

The time I was in the studio the most was probably that time.

So that we could have a flawless EUROBEAT master, just making a kick sound took so many months that I can't even recall.

And then, finally went to the real place of Milano, Italy,

And that guy worked at the studio of a EUROBEAT maestro, Divo Rogers, for about one month, and they came home to Japan.

His eurobeat compositions, they've been compilated in Super Eurobeat countless times.

That time, we made music that people couldn't tell was Japanese.

And then, the world moved towards the era of Techno, and the world was a bubble.

Juliana Tokyo was an overwhelming and unequaled monster.

And he, without hesitation, entered into the work of Techno.

And the representative song was, a song that everyone knows, "Can't undo this!!"

Yes, at a new point in my memory, it was the original song that DJ OZMA covered in I RAVE U.

After that, he used the names of Stargaze and Maximizer, and created hits for Juliana.

At the time, the same way, Komuro started to have an interest in Techno House, and he debuted TRF.

The one who remixed the debut song "GOING TO DANCE" was him,

Afterwards, it would be the remixing side of work that would change and become the main arrangement of GOING TO DANCE.

Even now in lives, it's his arrangement that they use.

And after that, it was countless years. I gave him one mission.

That mission was to give the yet-debuted Hamasaki Ayumi recording lessons, and to create her debut single.

It took about a year, and after that, Hamasaki Ayumi debuted.

And now, Daisuke Suzuki, a person like Komuro's right arm, and Garnet Crow's Keyboard, told me that there was a great song made by him, and gave me a demo of it, and I knew immediately.

It was a complete rebirth.

Or, it might be that the era has turned.

If it was he who changed, or if it was the era that just made a full circle, I don't know.

His name is Hoshino Yasuhiko.

so what I asked,

"Matsuura-san, have you met Ayu recently? is she ok?"

Then he replied me,

[News] A Man Arressted of Threathening Letter To Ayumi Hamasaki's House

Oh My God! This is Scary!! Max Matsuura's house targeted by a criminal 

「放火して丸焼きにしてやる」浜崎あゆみさん宅に脅迫文　容疑の男を逮捕

歌手の浜崎あゆみさんの自宅に、所属会社社長に対して５億円を要求する脅迫文を郵送したとして、警視庁渋谷署は１２日、恐喝未遂の疑いで、兵庫県明石市西新町、職業不詳、藤井基吉容疑者（４２）を逮捕した。同署によると、藤井容疑者は「間違いない」と容疑を認めている。

　逮捕容疑は昨年１２月下旬、浜崎さんが所属する「エイベックス・グループ・ホールディングス」（東京都港区）の松浦勝人社長（４５）から現金を脅し取ろうと、同区内の浜崎さんの自宅あてに「（松浦社長は）１週間以内に指定する口座に５億円を送金しろ。さもなければ自宅を放火して丸焼きにしてやる。親分の指示だ」などと書いた封書を郵送したとしている。

　同署によると、藤井容疑者は郵送した封書に自分の住所や氏名を書き込んでいた。浜崎さんや松浦社長と面識はなかったという。

On the 12th, Shibuya Metropolitan Police arrested Motokichi Fujii* (42) at his place of employment in Nishishin-cho 1, Akashi, Hyogo on charges of extortion after he sent a threatening letter to singer Ayumi Hamasaki's residence and attempted to extort money from the president of Avex Group Holdings, the parent company of Avex Management. Shibuya police are investigating how he obtained Ms. Hamasaki's home address.

"Deposit ¥500 million in the specified bank account within one week. Otherwise, I'm gonna burn the company president's house down. Boss's orders," wrote the suspect in a letter mailed to Ms. Hamasaki's home, trying to extort money from the company president. According to Shibuya police, he has admitted to the charges.

Fujii brought up names of other female singers belonging to Avex Management and made arson threats. His identity surfaced as he had written his full name and address on the envelope.

and it was Jejung of Tohoshinki who tried to speak to Ayu at first *kyaaa Jejung is my favorite member, that's why I'm so excited!*

actually, these are taken from the video documentary about Max Matsuura, The Future’s Engine An Enthusiastic Creator – The Miracles of Matsuura Masato.

Apparently the first broadcast caught up last night 21:00-23:00 on BS-TBS, and there was this scene captured at the show. Tohoshinki with Matsuura-san and Ayumi Hamasaki at a-nation launch party.

This party was held before the opening of the last day a-nation 2009 concerts at Osaka. All avex artists who were performing that day attended the event.

[Info] Max Matsuura's Documentary On Asahi TV featuring Ayumi Hamasaki And Other Avex Artists

On 9th January 2010, Asahi TV will be airing a Documentary Video of Max Matsuura's as one of the avex trax famous producers who has invented great artists like Ayumi Hamasaki, TRF, Every Little Thing, GIRL NEXT DOOR, Maki Goto and etc.

I think that it will show a short footage/video about the interaction between the artists and Max Matsuura during some occasions, I'm not sure though, since this documentary should be mainly about Max Matsuura.
