NHK Kouhaku's official site has announced the songs that will be sung by the artists that will be participated on 31st December 2010. Ayu is going to perform "Virgin Road" as the opening for the yearly-end show.

Actually, I wish that she would sing "Last angel" which is more suitable for being the opening song for a show. Oh well, Virgin Road is not bad though.

[News] 26.11.2010 Ayu Going To Be The First Performer For NHK 61th Kouhaku

According to Yomiuri, Ayu will be the opening act for NHK 61th Kouhaku and it's already been the 3rd time since 2008.

Ayu is going to have her own year-end concert at Yoyogi Stadium and she will usually rush to the Yoyogi stadium after she has finished performing her part at Kouhaku and this year is going to be the same.

あゆ、３年連続紅組トップバッター…紅白出場歌手発表

　大みそかの「第６１回ＮＨＫ紅白歌合戦」（後７時３０分）の出場歌手４４組が２４日、東京・渋谷の同局で発表された。昨年の５０組より６組少なく、２部制になった１９８９年以降では最少。

　浜崎あゆみ（３２）が３年連続でトップバッターを務めることが２４日、ほぼ確実になった。井上ＣＰはこの日、曲目や曲順などについては全く決まっていないとしたが、関係者は「トップは浜崎さんで間違いないでしょう」と話した。

　浜崎は毎年、東京・代々木体育館でカウントダウンコンサートを開催。今年も行うことが決定し、０８、０９年同様、トップで歌唱後すぐに代々木体育館に直行することになりそう。ＮＨＫにとっても人気歌手の浜崎がトップを務めることは、番組開始から見る視聴者の増加につながっており、願ったりかなったりだ。

According to this Japanese article, Nikkansports, Ayu and EXILE will be the opening artists for both Red and White Team at NHK 60th Kouhaku on this upcoming 31st December 2009. It seems that Ayu to perform first because she wants to catch up with her CountDown Live 2009-2010 which will be started at almost late midnight to as well celebrate the New Year.

紅白トップは超大物、あゆとＥＸＩＬＥ

　大みそかの第６０回ＮＨＫ紅白歌合戦（午後７時１５分スタート）の紅組トップバッターを浜崎あゆみ（３１）が務めることが２２日、分かった。浜崎は２年連続でトップバッターを飾ることになり「Ｒｕｌｅ」を歌う。白組は人気ダンスボーカルユニットＥＸＩＬＥが務める。

　関係者によると、６０回記念の紅白歌合戦ということで、浜崎とＥＸＩＬＥのビッグアーティストコンビを起用し、番組のスタートから一気に盛り上げたい意向のようだ。昨年の紅白は、オープニングの視聴率はは２０％後半だったが、浜崎が登場し「Ｍｉｒｒｏｒｃｌｅ　Ｗｏｒｌｄ」を歌うと視聴率は一気に３０％を超えたという。ＮＨＫも実力と幅広い世代に支持される浜崎に、記念の紅白のスタートを託した形だ。
