According to this Japanese article, Nikkansports, Ayu and EXILE will be the opening artists for both Red and White Team at NHK 60th Kouhaku on this upcoming 31st December 2009. It seems that Ayu to perform first because she wants to catch up with her CountDown Live 2009-2010 which will be started at almost late midnight to as well celebrate the New Year.

関係者によると、６０回記念の紅白歌合戦ということで、浜崎とＥＸＩＬＥのビッグアーティストコンビを起用し、番組のスタートから一気に盛り上げたい意向のようだ。昨年の紅白は、オープニングの視聴率はは２０％後半だったが、浜崎が登場し「Ｍｉｒｒｏｒｃｌｅ Ｗｏｒｌｄ」を歌うと視聴率は一気に３０％を超えたという。ＮＨＫも実力と幅広い世代に支持される浜崎に、記念の紅白のスタートを託した形だ。
